I didn’t know Jim when we were both at OPRF. We met in college when we both attended American University in Washington, D.C. We often hung out together and I appreciated Jim’s wry sense of humor.
Jim had a dark green sports car – an MGB-GT. I remember the road trip we once took. After Jim had driven for some hours, he was getting tired and asked if I would drive – adding the question – Did I know how to drive a stick shift? My instant reply – of course I knew how to drive a stick. The truth was I had never driven one in my life. I gave those gears a really good workout……
Jim knew how to enjoy life, and that made it fun to be with him.
It was 1953 when Hugh Heffner founded Playboy magazine. To raise cash and promote the magazine Heff offered a limited time special of a lifetime subscription for only $50. Jimmy's father was smart enough to take the offer but he entered it with Jimmy's name so once a month when the new issue arrived Jimmy let some of us know and we went to Jimmy's to scan the new issue (to read the articles only, of course} RIP....Rest In Playboy, Buddy
I remember Jimmy from Emerson grade school. H brought his pet snake to show the class. It was the fis time I saw a snake up close &I think I touched it! He was a cute, interesting, smart kid. May he Rest In Peace.
